A completely random and unexpected celebrity feud has emerged between late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. This beef has apparently been simmering for a while, with Rodgers taking jabs at Kimmel during his weekly appearances on “The Pat McAfee Show.” However, things took an ugly turn when Rodgers made an ill-advised joke suggesting Kimmel’s name would appear on the list of celebrities who visited convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s private island.
Kimmel angrily responded on his show, saying Rodgers’ comments could endanger his family and he’s considering legal action. Yikes! It went from playful ribbing to serious threats real quick. Perhaps Rodgers should stick to grumbling about his team’s poor performance instead of starting celebrity feuds. Not a good look making jokes about Epstein’s notorious sex trafficking operation. I’m sure Packers fans would rather see Rodgers throwing spirals at practice than throwing shade at a late night comedian.
In other news, former Disney star Selena Gomez made the shocking claim that she may retire from making music after releasing one more album. Say what?! How can one of pop music’s biggest stars just walk away in her prime? Gomez said she never really wanted a music career, but was pressured into it by Hollywood. I guess making billions of dollars through acting, producing, and entrepreneurship is enough for Selena. Plus, belts and lyrics aren’t necessary when you’re already an influential voice.
Still, it’s hard to imagine the music scene without the talent and beauty of Selena Gomez. With massive hits like “Lose You To Love Me,” Gomez stands alongside pop divas like Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. Her vulnerable songwriting and smoky vocals inspire young people everywhere. Even if she stops making her own albums, Gomez should keep the possibility of occasional features or live performances open. A Selena Gomez concert remains a magnificent, almost spiritual experience that everyone should enjoy at least once.
Despite being a childhood star, Gomez has kept things together much better than many of her peers. No public meltdowns or trips to rehab (yet!). She seems to have a good head on her shoulders. But I hope Gomez isn’t ditching her singing career solely because of pressure from Disney years ago. She’s a grown woman fully in charge of her life now. Don’t let those Mickey Mouse guys win, Selena! They already take enough childhood joy away from everyone 😆.
In 10 years, we may look back with disbelief that one of the era’s most popular pop singers retired at just 31 years old. So I say keep at it, Selena! Make a few more albums and GG’s before riding off into the sunset. With her talent and devoted fanbase, I doubt this will be her last record. A glimpse at the future, maybe? We shall see!
What do you think? Should Selena Gomez quit music for good and focus on acting, producing, and business ventures instead? Or should pop’s princess keep making smash hits for her fans? Sound off in the comments!
